Introduction to Windhorse
Based in the UK, we design, source, wholesale, & retail gifts from around the world, working closely with craftspeople & makers from Java to Kenya, Shanghai to Chiang Mai.
Who we are
We started as a market stall in East London in 1980, and now around 100 people work at our 6000 sq metres of headquarters at Cambridge, with many more working in our retail chain called evolution. Many of us are practising Buddhists and our profits are used to support Buddhist projects all over the world, as well as social projects directly benefiting the people who make our gifts.
Products
With around 1600 products we like to think we have a gift for everyone. We go from cool urban picture frames to cute animal money boxes, via attractive enamel jewellery boxes and elegant perfume bottles - not forgetting a quick tour of finely carved statues and funky ceramics. We always have a big range of windchimes, oil burners, candles, incense, picture frames and mirrors.
We’ve designed lots of our items, so you won’t find them anywhere else and very reasonable prices are always what we aim for.
Vans
For a hands-on look at our products, try our fleet of mobile showrooms. Our friendly van sales team can visit you with a showroom on wheels every 4-6 weeks, anywhere (almost!) in the UK, Ireland or the Netherlands. If you’d like a visit we will roll up to your door with over 700 current samples - you can place an order there and then. Your order gets zapped back to the warehouse electronically for packing, and delivery follows by courier usually within a few days.
Tradeshows
A great way to see our product range is to visit our stand at the main gift fairs. We show our newest and best ranges at each fair, so you can preview and order new products being launched for the coming season.
We show at several fairs each year - the Spring and Autumn Gift Fairs at Birmingham NEC, at Harrogate in July, and every month at Utrecht in Holland. See the News Page for up-to-date details.
Showroom in Cambridge
Three times a year - in January, June and August - we invite customers to visit our showroom in Cambridge. As well as seeing samples of all our best sellers and latest lines, you can unearth bargains in our sale. It is also possible to visit us outside these times.
